This consumer has strong ties to their past, a respect for the old world, but a want “to kick their feet up” attitude toward their home and furniture. This consumer is influenced by environmental concerns; a desire to bring the outdoors “in”; a return to “basics”, and a contentness in just being themselves. Their homes are “light and airy”, traditional on the outside, yet “today” on the inside. They shop at The Gap...they eat whole grain foods...they drink bottled water...they are influenced in fashion by Ralph Lauren and Donna Karans..., they drive a 4-wheel vehicle...they work hard...they play hard...and when at home, they want to relax, with family and friends...with no stuffy airs...but with the warmth of tradition and comfort surrounding them.
